Good Thursday Everyone,

We have begun our study of Greek mythology, and the students are very excited. We are focusing on the myths that explain the beginning of life on earth with a colorful cast of characters! Stay tuned for more information. Next week the band and chorus will have an in school dress rehearsal and an evening performance of their annual holiday programs.  Students should come to school in Concert dress. They will be allowed to change after their dress rehearsal. I am sure it will be an incredible show as always!

Good Afternoon,
This week the students began an incentive program to earn a special activity just before our holiday break.  This is an attempt to have students focus on how they as individuals can have a positive effect on their community. We will see how it goes. Tomorrow is an early release. Our community giving projects continue.

As November winds down, we are all excited about presenting our PBL projects. I am looking forward to seeing what they learned. There are many activities happening around LSS to help out community members in need. We are collecting gently used winter outerwear, loose change, and unwrapped Toys for Tots. Pick your service project.  Reminder that next Wednesday is an early release for students.

Wednesday, November 7, 2018

Welcome to the craziness of no school November. This feels a bit fragmented, but I will do all I can to keep a focus for the students. This week is the much anticipated fifth grade play. I wish all the participants a great performance. I am trying to keep classroom demands reasonable with the extra demand of performances. Just a reminder that book projects are due next Tuesday.
